Every year, I find myself on the soft white sands of Kaanapali Beach with my family. We’ve kept the tradition of meeting here for a lifetime, finding time in our busy schedules to reconnect over early morning paddle board sessions, afternoon cocktails, and evening board game nights. With each trip, I find a new aspect of Maui to love, whether it’s the island’s stunning ocean views, gorgeous sunsets, or lush greenery. Maui has come to symbolize precious time with my family, or as the locals say, Ohana.
When you travel to Maui, you want to pack your suitcase to accommodate beach days, long hikes, or nights out, depending on what’s on the docket. For simplicity, this article focuses primarily on resort wear. Think lightweight, breathable, and loose fabrics, which will help you stay cool in the 70 to 80-degree weather. Below, you’ll find a week’s worth of my favorite outfits––your personal list of Maui outfit ideas!
🌺 In light of the recent Maui wildfires, I encourage you to donate to the Maui Strong Fund, which provides financial resources to support the people and places affected by the devastating Maui wildfires. Please consider leaving extra room in your suitcase to shop for outfits at local stores!

1. Flowy White Dress
White always pops out against Maui’s lush scenery! Any flowy white dress will do, but personally I favor Rails’ Marseille Dress. With its free-flowing form, drawstring neckline, and a subtly ruffled hem, you can easily throw it over your bikini of choice. For a complete look, pair your white dress with Tkees strappy sandals, a shell necklace, and a raffia wide-brim hat. If you’re looking for an alternative, check out SABO’s Gia Dress!
🌺 Quick Tip: Pack a steamer or wrinkle-release spray — white fabrics show creases quickly, especially in humid climates like Maui.

2. Beige Beach Dress
I recently discovered SABO––an Australian brand reminiscent of golden summer days spent your girlfriends. All of their styles are perfect for casual beach days. For this vacation, I picked SABO’s Alaska Dress––a lightweight, easy throw-on piece that’s ideal for lounging in the sand or grabbing a cocktail after a swim. Pair it with a simple straw hat for a cute beach look!

3. Seashell Dress
How cute is this seashell dress! Spoiler: it’s also from SABO. The dress is a showstopper for a night out. I got a lot of compliments on the seashell design. To really make your look pop, pair it with pearl accessories (ex: Pearl Toggle Necklace) and a fresh, dewy glow using Jones Road Beauty clean makeup products.

Can you tell how happy I am to be here? 🙂
4. Beachy Blues Set
The Periwinkle Set by LPA is one of my favorite outfits for casual vacations — its soft blue pattern is absolutely stunning and blends perfectly with Maui’s tropical surroundings. To stay sun-safe, I layered a lightweight cotton long-sleeve by Everlane, which is breathable and perfect for windier days out on the water (aka: whale watching trips)!

A little sleepy here because the whale watching tour started early!
5. Bikini n’ Shorts
You have to check out Bydee Bikinis! Their bikinis are gorgeous. Designed in Australia, you can order all of their swimwear, bikinis, and one pieces to the United States. If you prefer more modest swimwear, head on over to Summersalt for gorgeous one pieces––perfect for soaking up the sun by the beach or lounging poolside! For a casual, go-anywhere look, pair your favorite swimwear with easy, soft shorts from Z Supply. If you’d like, you can throw a graphic t-shirt over. Abercrombie has a lot of great options, which fit Maui’s vibe!

6. Sunshine Yellow Dress
I’ve always loved the color yellow—it’s reminiscent of everything bright and beautiful in life. When I first saw the Aneta Dress, I instantly fell in love. I’m so happy to say the dress worked out! This flowy dress features a lightweight cotton fabric, subtle crochet details, and adjustable straps. Pair it with cute sandals by Tkees or even comfy Arizona Birkenstocks for a simple but put-together resort look.
