Let’s be honest: we all want to create a Pinterest-worthy bedroom! Here are dreamy decor ideas to help you make the perfect bedroom space.

1. Try a neutral color palette

Stick to a minimalist color scheme for a cozy, inviting vibe. White, beige, and taupe are great base colors. Keep your wall color and general decor relatively simple, allowing for accent pillows, wall accessories, or statement pieces to introduce pops of color.

2. Shop white bedding

White bedding brightens up any room and has a calming effect. I also love how it also makes any room feel less cluttered! Is white bedding practical? Actually, yes. White bedding is cheaper and easier to clean–no need to worry about color fading in the wash!

3. Add a few throw pillows

Anthropologie has done it again. I’m hooked on their throw pillows. Toss a few on your bed and you are good to go!

4. Don’t forget a textured throw blanket

The right throw blanket makes your bed feel even more cozy. This throw blanket is my personal favorite. I love the mixture of white and black textures and the tassel detailing.

5. Head over to Etsy for Macrame hangings

Etsy has a wide variety of macrame items from small businesses worldwide. A small macrame can cost as little as $20, while a large macrame can retail for over $300. Regardless of what you buy, macrame wall hangings add undeniable charm to any bedroom.

6. Seagrass Belly Baskets are perfect for extra storage.

I’m obsessed with seagrass baskets. As I look around my room, I see four in my line of sight. I use these baskets for just about everything–potted plants, dirty laundry, book storage, etc.

7. White curtains create a dreamy ambiance

Sheer white curtains nicely frame any window.

8. Buy a few indoor plants

I love adding indoor plants to my bedroom. If you want to learn more about what indoor plants to buy, check out my article: “7 Reasons Why You Should Add Plants to Your Bedroom.” I have Monstera, Devil’s Ivy, Boston Fern, Actinidia Polygama, and Lucky Bamboo plants.

9. Add an accent rug

I love these three designs. Don’t be afraid to layer different patterns and textures!

10. Shop bedside tables

New takes on an old classic.

11. Use mirrors to brighten up your room

Mirrors give the illusion of extra space. If you are working with a smaller room, consider hanging a mirror on your wall or buying a large standing mirror.

12. Create a DIY wall collage

You can print a few dozen photos cheaply at CVS, Walgreens, or Shutterfly. Round up your favorites and arrange them on your wall to revisit your favorite memories!

13. Hang your favorite artwork

There are so many places to buy beautiful artwork–Anthropologie, Minted, Juniper Print Shop, Saatchi Art, 20×200, Etsy, and Urban Outfitters. When in doubt, head to a local flea market and find a poster or print that speaks to you.

14. Light scented candles

Voluspa candles are my personal favorite. They are hand-poured in the US and smell amazing!

15. Don’t forget the fairy lights

What Pinterest-worthy room isn’t complete without fairy lights?

16. Keep your favorite books close

Stack coffee-table books, magazines, or best-sellers on your to-read list.

17. Organize your desk supplies

It’s easy for your desk to be cluttered. Keep your pens, pencils, and notebooks divided with these desk organizers.

18. Display your jewelry

If you need more space on your desk, consider adding a cute jewelry display to your wall.

19. Keep a dream journal close by

Here is a cute journal from Anthropologie to kickstart your journal practice. By keeping a dream journal, you can self-reflect on your emotions. Also, dream journals can be fun to look back on! Dreams reflect your reality, and that reality is constantly changing. Keeping a written record of your dreams can show how much you’ve grown and changed over time.
