La Note is a popular brunch spot that is located on Shattuck in Berkeley. Frequented by college students and young adults alike, this restaurant offers a new take on traditional french cuisine, serving classic Provençal meals in a quaint setting. With breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, La Note’s Breakfast All Day from 8am to 2:30pm on weekdays reigns supreme in Berkeley.
What to Order at La Note
From their pastries to their french toast, La Note knows how to whip up a hearty meal. If you go, I’d recommend ordering Le Panier du Boulange, which includes a plain croissant, almond croissant, pain au chocolat, and morning bun, the Oatmeal Raspberry Pancakes, or the Omelette au Fromage, which is served with homefries and your choice of toast. The rosemary-garlic homefries are absolutely delicious. If you go to La Note, be sure to order extra sides–you won’t be disappointed!
La Note Berkeley Menu
Everything at La Note is good to the last bite. The service is fast and friendly, and if you can’t read French, the servers are very knowledgeable of what’s on the menu, so don’t be afraid to ask.
What to Know Before You Go
The one downside to La Note is the wait–you can expect to wait 20 minutes at the least, 90 minutes at the most! If you are strapped for time, you can check out Cafe M in Downtown Berkeley. It’s best to snag a seat around 8am to avoid the 9am to 11am rush hour!
Don’t Forget Your Cup of Joe!
One thing to add: La Note’s coffee is to die for. When I go, I usually drink around three to four cups. The coffee is smooth, bold, and surprisingly not bitter. It’s refreshing to get a good cup of coffee in Berkeley that isn’t Blue Bottle or Cafe Stradda.
La Note’s Warm + Homey Setting
I love the warm atmosphere of the restaurant, as well as the colorful tablecloths, giant mugs, and homey decorations. The last time I visited La Note, I decided to eat on the patio to enjoy the fresh air. I love La Note’s outdoor seating arrangements, as well as the foliage and trees that adorn the area. If La Note’s inside area is full, their patio is definitely the way to go.
La Note is one of my favorite brunch spots of all time. Their food is delicious and their ambiance is very homey. It’s a wonderful restaurant to go with family, friends, or a first date! If you have been to La Note or want to go, let me know what you think of this brunch spot in the comments below.
