2. Union of Concerned Scientists

The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) is a nonprofit science advocacy organization based in the United States. UCS’s motto is “We use science to make change happen.” According to the organization’s founding document, the Union of Concerned Scientists was formed to “initiate a critical and continuing examination of governmental policy in areas where science and technology are of actual or potential significance.”

10. Environmental & Energy Study Institute

Established in 1984, the EESI is an independent, non-profit organization that aims to educate Congress on energy efficiency and renewable energy to advance clean energy policies. The EESI was founded after the Environmental Study Conference, a bipartisan and bicameral Congressional caucus that launched in 1975. Today, EESI focuses specifically on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ground-level air pollution, improving public health, energy security, and economic development opportunities, and increasing use of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
